Fall recipes are some of our all-time favorites, and it's a nice way to mix things up after all those apple and pumpkin recipes. Give it a go, and we bet you'll fall in love with it too.
What You'll Need
- 2 acorn squash, cut in half lengthwise
- 1 cup maple or pancake syrup
- 1/4 cup jalapeno pepper jelly
- 1 tablespoon butter, melted
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon or nutmeg
What to Do
-
Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. In a 9- x 13-inch baking dish, place squash cut side up.
-
In a medium bowl, combine maple syrup, jelly, butter, and cinnamon. Coat cut side of squash evenly with syrup mixture.
-
Bake 1 hour, basting occasionally, or until squash is fork-tender and starts to brown around the edges.
Notes
Be careful when you check the squash and remove it from the oven, because the syrup is very hot!
