Fantasy Chicken
- SERVES
- 4
- COOK TIME
- 20 Min
Our behind the scenes look at Disney World's Fantasyland inspired our Test Kitchen to create the ultimate "bacon fantasy" recipe. As part of our week-long "Taste of Disney" series, our Fantasy Chicken will have your gang going hog wild!
What You'll Need
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts, butterflied (See Note)
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 cup refrigerated garlic and herb spreadable cheese, divided
- 8 slices crisp cooked bacon, divided
- 4 slices Cheddar cheese
What to Do
-
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Coat a baking sheet with cooking spray.
-
On a flat surface, open chicken breasts like a book. Lightly sprinkle each chicken breast with salt and pepper on both sides. Evenly spread 1 tablespoon of garlic and herb cheese on one side of each chicken breast, then place 2 bacon slices over cheese. Fold chicken breasts over and place on prepared baking sheet.
- Bake 15 minutes; remove from oven, top each with Cheddar cheese, and bake 5 additional minutes, or until no pink remains in chicken.

Wonderful dish. I could not find the garlic herb spreadable cheese so I use Lemon and Herb cream cheese. It turned out great. Will definely make it again.

this was very good BUT I could not find garlic herb spreadable cheese. Is this a specialty item or something that should be on grocery shelf? I used onion & chive cream cheese, ALSO the chicken breasts in our area are very thick(plump) and 15 minutes would not be long enough to cook, so I think that was too general a figure to use, considering you did not specify size/thickness of breasts. I will make again, hope I can find cheese you specify.

Boursin, Laughing Cow, and Alouette are several brands of spreadable cheese which can be found in most super markets. They come in small tubs, and each can be had in several flavors. The Boursin is a favorite garlic herb variety. Look in the deli section or along with the specialty cheeses.

I don't know why people keep picking on Mr Food because he doesn't post nutrition values. If you are up to snuff about nutrition you should know the value of recipes and if it doesn't fit your diet then forget it. I love Mr Food and his recipes.

Amen. This should be a "no complaint zone." There's always a low-cal website to browse if those are your favorite foods.

Sounds like a heart attack waiting to happen! It's obvious why you refuse to post the nutrional value of your dishes.

You can JUDGE someone by the recipes they like? What if I eat healthy 5 days out of a week and then decide to prepare delicious mouth watering recipes on the other two? It really isn't any of your business! I can select from Mr. Food or go online to select another mouth watering high calorie recipe if I want! There are a lot of things in life I don't like either but mind my own business. Perhaps you should do the same because you are not doing anything positive on here except pissing off a lot of people!! Now, to the kitchen to create the Candy Bar Brownie Trifel....sounds YUMMY!
