Instead of chicken, I would use salad shrimp (not the can shrimp) and the lemon yogurt. Water-chestnuts instead of celery (personal preference)

any suggestions of what I can use instead of yogurt? I can't have dairy and plain mayo doesn't sound that great for this recipe

Miracle Whip or mayo, but they would taste slightly different. Use whichever one you prefer. Also, I thin mayo with a little water first. It's creamier and stays creamy in the salad and doesn't clump up.

There are several non dairy yogurts out now, made with almond, coconut, or soy milk.

This would be great with any combination of fresh fruits! Why would you pair this as a side dish with baked chicken ( see notes) as it already has the chicken in it and is a maindish salad. Yes you can omit the chicken but then it is just fesh fruit salad.

Sounds good except for the yogurt...I don't like yogurt....can't get used to the sour taste. I would use mayonnaise instead, use fewer fruits, eliminate the nuts, add celery and yellow and/or red peppers....now that would be yummy!

so, in other words, it doesn't sound good. If you're looking for a savory chicken salad, try one of the other recipes! This one says it's meant as a side dish, and apparently, a sweet one, at that. With all the fresh fruits available right now in my produce section, I'm gonna try this

In other words, you don't like this recipe. So don't try to fix it to your liking. I love it & will definitely make it with no changes.

Well, why don't you just make up your own recipe and leave this one alone? I don't understand why your even commented.
