I served this last week at a neighborhood barbeque, and people really liked it! I love the jalapeno in it for a little bit of kick. The salt in the dressing helps the cabbage to wilt just a little bit and it soaks up all that flavor. I used a zesty Italian variety. It is a nice alternative to the sweeter, creamy slaws that I've had before.

Sounds delicious! have been making a somewhat similar coleslaw for years. I am going to make this for a potluck Saturday. I have used the Splenda brown sugar with great results. No one knew the difference. Will be using it in this recipe as well. Love Mr. food and look forward to the daily emails.

The Firecracker Slaw has been a big hit for me. Made it twice in one week for two different events. That is saying something for me. Since I am the girl that couldn't boil water (Smile)

Concerned about sugar?? Use low fat or sugar-free dressing, and no-sugar brown sugar....YUMMY!! The longer you let the flavors "marry", the better, too!

Splenda makes a product that is a brown sugar substitute. We have not tried it in the Test Kitchen, so we can not guarantee the results. Thank you!
