Roll up your sleeves and get those napkins ready, 'cause these deliciously juicy burgers are sure to leave a mess. Once you sink your teeth into our inside-out take on a cheeseburger you'll understand why we call these our Five Napkin Burgers. So what are you waiting for? Let's get messy!
What You'll Need
- 2 pounds ground chuck
- 1 cup (4 ounces) diced Cheddar cheese
- 1/4 cup real bacon bits
- 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
- 1/4 cup water
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 6 hamburger buns, split
What to Do
- In a large bowl, combine ground chuck, cheese, bacon bits, Worcestershire sauce, water, garlic powder, salt, and pepper; mix just until combined, then shape mixture into 6 equal-sized patties. Place an indentation in center of each burger with your thumb.
- Heat a large skillet or grill pan over medium-high heat and cook patties 4 to 5 minutes per side, or cook on a pre-heated grill, until no pink remains and juices run clear. Place in buns and serve.
Notes
- A few tips for making the juiciest burger ever: don't overmix your meat mixture and when cooking your burgers, never press down on burger and only flip it once during cooking.
- For a perfect side, try our Creamy Herb Fries or these great-tasting Jalapeno Chili Cheese Fries!
- If you're bringing this along for a picnic, why not try our "German" Coleslaw or our Basic Macaroni Salad!

I like the idea of the cheese in the middle of the burgers.

How would these work in the oven? I've cooked burgers in the oven before, but these have extra ingredients rather than just ground beef.

Hello! - Yes, you can cook these burgers in the oven and they should turn out just fine. However, the longer you cook them in the oven, the greater the chance for the cheese to ooze out. Enjoy!

How about some chopped mushrooms and Swiss cheese? Top with grilled onions.

My favorite! Swiss and mushroom! I bet half my guests at my Memorial Day cook out will request that combo! I don't entertain as much as I used to, but Memorial Day is the big one for me, so I like to have lots of food and choices.

I used Mozarella cheese and pizza seasoning for a pizza like burger. I'm thinking about taco seasoning and some Monterey Jack cheese for a south of the boarder taste.

Oh, yes. Must have onions. This sounds great, but I am not a big fan of cheddar cheese, so, I think I will use smoked provolone cheese and caramelized onions on top.

Sounds great! Especially with adding grilled onions. Get tired of plain old burgers.
