  • 1 (4-serving size) package instant vanilla pudding and pie filling mix
  • 2 cups milk
  •
  • CHOCOLATE GLAZE
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 4 teaspoons cornstarch
  • 2/3 cup water
  • 1 ounce (1 square) unsweetened chocolate
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

What to Do

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Coat a 9- x 13-inch baking dish with cooking spray. Add batter and bake according to package directions; let cool.
  2. Using the end of a wooden spoon, poke holes about 1-inch apart all over top of cake.
  3. In a medium bowl, whisk pudding mix and milk until slightly thickened. Pour mixture into holes and spread evenly over top of cake. Chill 1 hour.
  4. To make Chocolate Glaze, in a medium saucepan over low heat, combine sugar, cornstarch, water, and chocolate; cook until chocolate is melted and mixture is thick and smooth, stirring constantly.

just ok

I keep saying NO MORE recipes but ha ha. Who am I kidding??? I NEED this one!!!

mix ingredients and spread on cake

Cocoa glaze 11/4 cups powdered sugar 1 Tablespoon soft butter 2 T cocoa 2-3 Tablespoons milk or water can warm liquid so will spread on cake 1 teaspoon vanilla

I found that you have to cook it for a while to get it thick for I thought mine wasn't going to thicken but as I cooked it more it did thicken.

I tried twice to make the glaze for this recipe. All I got was chocolate water. I had old cornstarch and an out of date bar of baking chocolate the first time. Today I bought all new ingredients for the glaze and still the same outcome. I stirred this on low for over 15 minutes both nights. What am I doing wrong?

Good morning and happy Monday! To see what was happening, we had the Test Kitchen make it this morning. The recipe was followed exactly as stated and in less than 5 minutes there was a thick, creamy delicious glaze. We suggest double checking that you're using a 1-ounce of chocolate and also double check that you're using the right amount of corn starch, as the corn starch is what causes it to thicken. Good luck! We hope the next batch comes out amazing.

Easy, I made a chocolate ganesh for the icing, very good.
