    Notes

Cookies and a beverage are a perfect snack anytime, but in the summer, a refreshing glass of ice tea is just what we need!

Can you substitute Quaker instant maple and brown sugar oatmeal for the rolled oats in this recipe?

I have a family member who cannot have oats. Can I just leave them out or do I have to adjust something in the recipe?

Hi Nancy! For this specific recipe you cannot leave out or replace the oats because of the large quantity of oats. We do however, have several delicious chocolate chip cookie recipes on the site that don't call for oats.

This recipe calls for a 7 oz. chocolate bar. What kind do you use, milk chocolate, dark chocolate, un-sweetened? Thanks, Bob

Hi Bob! The test kitchen used a milk chocolate bar, but dark chocolate would work great also.

Such an accurate name ! ! I've made these for many years and will continue to do so.

This recipe lives up to its name... It really is THE BEST Cookie Ever. I will be making it again and again!

I'm a self proclaimed cookie monster so I'd like to think I know a good cookie when I try one. This really could be one of the best cookies ever. It's not the prettiest cookie, but who cares because it tastes fantastic. The texture is great, and the chocolate chips, walnuts and oats make for the perfect combination. This cookie doesn't disappoint.
