It really was a great layered salad with a grilled or baked fish. But all I did is take out the celery and peppers and add fresh peas and tomatoes and mushroom .

I never toss this salad. Just serve by using a big spoon and scooping it out. Great salad.

I made this for my b'day lunch last weekend since we are eating healthy these days. However, I did leave off the mayo/sour cream dressing and allow my guests to add their own low fat/low calorie dressings. We also use salsa as a dressing to lower the calorie content! Oh, and I did add drained black beans instead of the corn. Loved and will be using this recipe again.

I think this looks great. Can't wait to try it. Also just for those of you who is debating on to toss it or not if you look at the bottom of the recipe it say's to toss just before serving.

You layer half the salad, half the dressing, the other half of the salad and the rest of the dressing and then the bacon bits. This is what it says in the recipe. I would personally toss it before serving so the dressing is mixed in with the salad

This is a wonderful dish. Easy to make, can subsitute to your liking. Is a "show stopper." You do NOT toss before serving, this is just like any layered salad. PamilaKu

This is one of my favorite salads, as it is known as 7 layered salad. There are several recipes for the mayo recipe, but this one is the best. The dressing goes on the top of salad and seals in and keeps the salad from going soggy and wilting the lettuce. My recipe calls for frozen peas instead of corn, but whatever your choice is, it's a great salad!

The recipe for your CHILLED STACKED SALAD seems very good, however in the instruction nbr. 1, you omit as to when the mayo, sour cream and garlic powder should be added. Please e-mail me this information. Thank You. Marilyn Bloomer jmbloomer@att.net

Dressing goes on top of salad. Don't mix it in with salad or it will wilt the lettuce and ruin the whole thing.
