Apples and pork chops are a classic combination that taste great, so of course we had to come up with a recipe that featured this duo. Our Apple Pie Pork Chops are full of flavor!
What You'll Need
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 6 (1-inch) pork loin chops (about 3 pounds total) (see Note)
- 1/4 cup vegetable oil
- 1 (21-ounce) container apple pie filling
- 1/2 cup water
What to Do
- In a shallow dish, combine flour, salt, and pepper; mix well.
- Dip pork chops in flour mixture, coating completely.
- In a large deep skillet, heat oil over medium-high heat. Add chops and brown 4 to 5 minutes per side. Stir in pie filling and water. Cook 3 to 4 minutes, or until no pink remains in chops.
- Serve with sauce spooned over the top.
Note
- To get nice, thick pork chops, ask your butcher or the meat cutter at the grocery store to cut them fresh for you.

I made this with Cracker Barrel fried apples. It was so good we just wanted to keep eating. It's easy to make and doesn't take much time.

I tried this recipe and Loved it, even though I had no apple pie filling on hand, I sliced up 2 large apples, simmered them in sugar water a bit of cinnamon just a few minutes, drained added apples to the recipe as if it was apple pie filling! Thanks for this recipe.

Would you not remove the chops and drain all or part of the oil/grease before adding the pie filling and water?

Hello! If you have an excessive amount of grease, you can definitely drain some of it. However, most of the grease is soaked up into the floured chip and leaves bits of flavor to be mixed with the apples. Enjoy!

Five comments and not ONE of them is telling how someone has actually cooked the food and how it tastes.

It's incredible how well pork pairs with fruit, especially apples, peaches, etc. Do you have any recommendations for recipes using other kinds of fruit, or general guidelines to follow when substituting?
