There's nothing more lip-smackin' than smoky-flavored country-style Down-Home Ribs made on the grill. Better make sure to have plenty of napkins ready when you chow down on these!
What You'll Need
- 1/4 cup Dijon-style mustard
- 1/4 cup mayonnaise
- 1/4 cup balsamic vinegar
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon light brown sugar
- 2-1/2 to 3 pounds country-style pork ribs
What to Do
-
Preheat grill to medium-high heat.
-
To make a glaze, in a small bowl, combine all ingredients except ribs.
-
Grill ribs 15 to 20 minutes, basting occasionally with glaze during the first 10 minutes of cooking, and turning ribs over occasionally.
Tips
-
Our Test Kitchen recommends giving our Apple Cider Slaw along with some baked beans and corn a try with these ribs.

I'm always amazed how critical everyone gets when a recipe refers to southern origins. The 'South' covers an extremely large region and not every southern state cooks things the same way. I.E., Cajuns are southerners but certainly cook differently from a native of Florida or Georgia (you get the idea). I'm from the south too, but am never afraid to try new recipes, no matter where they originated. If it sounds good, I'll give it a try.

I am from up north transplanted to the south and we always parboil them especially with older folks trying to eat them

YEs I would parboil the ribs ( barely cover ribs with water can add cut up onion with the water let ribs come to boil simmer 10 -12minutes) drain well if u want a little kick add some red pepper flakes salt & pepper as desired I have not yet tried these ribs myself, but refreshing to see BBQ ribs a little different without chili powder hot sauce & tons of sugar etc

Do I need to precook before placing pork ribs on grill? How long do I grill them?

I am so sorry to sound negative, but I am from the South "down home" and would never, ever, ever, under any circumstances use mustard or mayonnaise to make a sauce or glaze for my ribs.

AMEN and thank you! We only smoke our ribs and NEVER NEVER BOIL THEM. Also puy rub on them in the morning or overnight is best.
