Give the stovetop the night off and let the microwave have a turn! With our Garlic Mashed 'Taters recipe you can have creamy, flavorful, mashed potatoes on the dinner table in no time!
What You'll Need
- 4 medium baking potatoes (about 2-1/2 pounds)
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 to 3 medium cloves garlic, minced
- 1 1/4 cup milk
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/8 teaspoon pepper
What to Do
- Scrub potatoes, and pierce several times with a fork. Place potatoes, 1-inch apart, on a microwave-safe rack or paper towels. Microwave at HIGH 15 to 17 minutes or until potatoes are tender; let stand 5 minutes. Peel potatoes; mash and place in a microwave-safe dish.
- Microwave butter and garlic in a 2-cup glass measuring cup at HIGH 30 seconds to 1 minute or until butter is melted; add milk, and microwave at HIGH 2 minutes.
- Pour milk mixture into mashed potatoes, stirring to blend. Add salt and pepper. Microwave at HIGH 1 to 2 minutes or until thoroughly heated.
