I followed the recipe exactly, except instead of apples I used ground beef mixed with pepper and garlic and made into patties. Then, I substituted buns for the cubed bread, and mustard and ketchup for the cinnamon and nutmeg. Finally, I used a different dairy product (american cheese) instead of the butter. Overall....delish!

It took me about 3 times to get this perfected. I first used fresh store bought bread (to soggy), then homemade bread (to dry), then finally came down to day old homemade French bread sliced into 3/4" slices and then 3/4" cubes. I used 6 large apples...3 Granny Smith and 3 Braburn which came out to 5 1/2 cups (extra liquid for the day old homemade bread) and also added 1 tspn of vanilla extract and doubled the cinnamon and added an extra 1/2 cup of butter. The low setting for at least the full 4 hrs works best. Perfect consistancy

It takes me forever to print a recipe. In the lower left corner it says "Done, but with errors on page." The recipes I have been able to print have been great. Please tell me what I am doing wrong as I am getting very frustrated. Thank you, Ann Seher

I have read the recipe and watched the video twice and no where in either did they mention milk. I know that with the oven baked bread pudding that we do add milk, but let's remember that this is not an oven baked dish. I made this exactly as the recipe call for and it was delicious. I served it with a choice of heavy cream, cool whip or vanilla. This was a huge hit with all. Thanks for the recipe, love it.

Call me crazy, but I saw this last night, and decided to make it for breakfast. Dessert can be breakfast, right?! The thing is, I despise cooked apples. Apple pies, apple crisps, apple turnovers- no, no, a thousand times no! Love 'em raw, hate 'em cooked! But, my boyfriend LOVES them, and I was feeling nice so I made this. I followed the recipe exactly, except for one thing- I read some of the reviews regarding the moistness of this pudding. I was a tad concerned, so I wanted to add something. So, I added one single serving sized cup of cinnamon applesauce. It turned out perfectly moist, and my boyfriend got that eyes-rolled-back-in-the-head look. He absolutely loved it, a total success! Yay! Thanks so much for sharing this recipe...and my man thanks you too :)

I did use some milk in this recipe, I just went with how moist I though it felt while mixing. Came out fine but I don,t think you would have to have the milk. Was a little more moist than I wanted when it was finished. I think the Apples gives it plenty of moisture. Pattigrace

I read the recipe and I watched the video. Nowhere in either is milk mentioned, so I have no idea why folks are wondering why it's been left out of the written version. There's so much melted butter and the moisture from the bread and apples, that it makes sense to me that there is no milk in the recipe itself. Some people have said they followed the recipe exactly and they loved it.

I made this receipe on thanksgiving. the receipe did not call for milk. I did not watch video . it was horrible, had to throw out.It might have been good if I knew milk was to go in it. A lot of time and money wasted.

Made a double batch for Thanksgiving and had heavy ream to pour over it. It was a hit with all ages. I served it instead of apple pie and it got rave reviews.

Video calls for milk in this recipe but was not included in recipe. Does it call for milk? I made it without and seemed like it was missing something was it the milk? It was just ok without.

This recipe is the best, not to mention the easiest. I love the smell of my kitchen right now and the taste is even better. Just like when I was kid and my Mom was cooking. Thanks for the memories.

Years ago I made an apple butter pudding and have been looking for the recipe. I believe I mixed it all together and baked it for a few minutes until it was warmed. The is it except - I used day old bread, cubed and left out to dry a bit. Apple butter instead of apples and topped it with a lemon sauce. I believe it took a jar of apple butter or close to it. The girls at work loved it and somewhere along the line I've lost the recipe. The lemon sauce was warm too. Hope you can duplicate it and let us know. Thanks. Ann Cummins Port Orange, Florida

Why would you think this is a diabetic recipe? It doesn't say so in the recipe. You could make it one by using Splenda Brown sugar instead . Make sure you watch the video because the directions for cooking are different. As spurlock said it is 3-4 hrs.

By reading the comments, I don't think they noticed that this is a DIABETIC recipe. Make changes to your taste.
