Don't you think the title says it all - sweet and sour - our taste buds are loving all of the different flavors!
What You'll Need
- 1 small onion, thinly sliced
- 1 cup fresh or frozen cranberries
- 12 skinned and boned chicken thighs
- 1/4 cup ketchup
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon dry mustard
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 teaspoons cider vinegar
- 1 1/2 tablespoon cornstarch
- 2 tablespoons cold water
What to Do
- Combine onion and cranberries in a 4-quart slow cooker. Arrange chicken on top of cranberry mixture.
- Combine ketchup and next 4 ingredients in a small bowl; pour over chicken.
- Cover and cook on HIGH setting 1 hour; reduce heat to LOW setting, and cook 6 hours or until chicken is very tender. Transfer chicken to a serving platter, and keep warm.
- Combine cornstarch and water, stirring until smooth; stir into mixture in slow cooker. Cook, uncovered, on HIGH setting 15 minutes or until mixture is slightly thickened, stirring often. Pour over chicken.

Can boneless, skinless chicken breast cut in half be used instead of the skinned and boned thighs?

Hello! You can definitely make these with chicken breasts, but this will affect the cooking time. While we haven't tested it with chicken breasts in the Test Kitchen, we recommend cooking for 3 to 4 hours on LOW or until the chicken is no longer pink in the center. We'd love to hear how it turns out for you!

HOW DID YOU ADD THE PINEAPPLE AND PEPPERS? DID YOU DRAIN THE PINEAPPLE FIRST OR USE THE JUICE? DID YOU DICE THE PEPPERS OR JULIENNE THEM? ALSO, DID YOU ELIMINATE THE CRANNBERRIES OR ONION? I LIKE THE IDEA OF USING PINEAPPLE AND PEPPERS, BUT I WOULD LIKE YOU TO EXPLAIN TO ME HOW YOU PREPARED IT. THANK YOU :-)

Have you guys made this dish? Sounded good, but the look (eye appeal) was just awful. I know why there wasn't a picture. Huge turnoff. My husband could not get past the appearance and would not eat it. Not recommended at all!

Could you elaborate on what was the appearance problem? I was all set to make this and then did not want to use all those ingredients if it was not good.

You did not eat it? But how could you rate it if you didn't eat it? Very odd...
