We know turkey is usually served up around Thanksgiving, but that doesn't mean you can't cook one up at any other time of year! Our Garlic-Roasted Turkey is perfect to make at any time 'cause you'll have plenty of leftovers for lunches, making it an easy week of cooking for you. Plus, you probably have all of the seasonings lying around in your spice cabinet, so you'll be saving money.
What You'll Need
- 1/3 cup minced fresh garlic
- 1/4 cup vegetable oil
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 (12- to 14-pound) turkey
What to Do
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
- In medium-sized bowl, combine all ingredients except turkey; mix well.
- Loosen skin from turkey breast by placing your hand between breast and skin; rub 1/3 of the garlic mixture underneath skin. Rub remaining 2/3 of garlic mixture over surface of the turkey.
- Place turkey, breast side down, in roasting pan filled with 1/4 inch water.
- Bake 1-1/2 hours then remove from oven. Carefully turn turkey over so it is breast side up.
- Return to oven and bake an additional 1-1/2 hours or until no pink remains and juices run clear.
