Pickled Sausage Rolls

MAKES
about 3-1/2 dozen
COOK TIME
5 Min

Mr. Food first had Pickled Sausage Rolls when he was in the Carolinas on a road trip from New York to Florida. The only difference in those was that the dough was made from scratch. Honestly, you won't be able to tell the difference!

What You'll Need

  • 1 (7 ½-ounce) package refrigerated biscuits (10 biscuits)
  • 1 (4 ½-ounce) jar pickled sausage, well drained (see Notes)

What to Do

  1. Preheat oven to 425 degrees F. Coat rimmed baking sheets with cooking spray.

  2. Lightly flatten each biscuit and place one sausage in center of each biscuit. Fold dough over sausage and pinch seams together.

  3. Cut each biscuit into 4 equal slices and place cut-side down on prepared baking sheets.

  4. Bake 5 to 7 minutes, or until biscuits are golden. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • Pickled sausage can usually be found in the canned meat section of the supermarket near the deviled ham and Vienna sausages.

  • Serve these with spicy brown mustard or your favorite dipping sauce.

It was awesome with pickled sausage and spicy mustard for dipping! The pickled sausage is actually what the recipe is all about. This was a fast, simple, "on hand" ingredients recipe. Thanks! Another way to enjoy pickled sausage.

I can't wait to try it. Geez, I can't remember the last time I HAD a vienna sausage. LOL!

pickled sausages are not vienna sausages

MsBarneybutt, hehehe ... funny name, I am in total agreement with you. It is an easy breakfast to go also. Use Spam, cocktail wieners, Kialbasa etc...

While I am NOT very crazy about anything pickled other than normal SOUR pickles, & I am NOT crazy about sweet pickling for that matter, I DO feel this would be great if made with Vienna Sausages, Hot Dogs or something along those lines. What "say" anyone else? = cllM

Yes there is a recipe on the preceding page called Hot Dog Puffs. It sounds delicious and so, so easy to make, the kids could do it.
