My mother-in-law used to make a meatloaf similar to this but she used tomato soup instead of ketchup/dressing/cheese and added vinegar and brown sugar to the topping. I think she called it Dutch Meatloaf. But this picture makes my mouth water and I am going to try it. I like the idea of cheese in it or topping it. Good comments from all.

sounds good. I always put brown sugar and ketchup in the meatloaf, and make a mix of both for the topping.....real good..it's a favorite at my church.

Absolutely delicious. Been looking for the perfect meatloaf for a long time. This is it.

where do I find nutritional values?

Not exact, but this is what I come up with using LC2013 and assuming you use 2 lbs lean ground beef. Nutrition Facts Serving size: 1/6 of [the above] recipe. Wonder if Dorothy Lynch dressing would work ok...? I always top my meatloaf with BBQ sauce instead of ketchup. Try dividing the meat in half and layer it in the pan with the cheese sandwiched between layers of meat. Or mix in the cheese and add a layer of mashed potatoes in the middle. Lots of options with meatloaf!

A few minutes before it's done, top with slices of American or Cheddar cheese and return to oven just long enough to melt the cheese!

Our family loves a good meatloaf. And this is it. My husband said "this is now our family meatloaf recipe." Enough said.

Love meatloaf ... it's so versatile! I made a couple of small changes. Did not use mushrooms (don't care for them); topped with BBQ sauce instead of ketchup. It was a total hit with the family. Love your emails too.

Sounds so good. I am always looking for new meatloaf recipes. I love that dressing, but never thought to add into my meatloaf. I will try your recipe. Thank you for sharing!

Which do you consider a sweet & spice French dressing?

"Catalina" style Fench dressing

Sweet & Spicy French by Wish-Bone. This flavorful red French dressing is filled with the perfect blend of sweet ripe tomatoes and spicy herbs to add a tasty zing to your next salad...or meatloaf.

This recipe was very good, my kids actually asked for seconds and thirds.
