Cod Fillets with Tomato Relish

But if you're looking to try to win over some of the more hesitant of friends, this easy seafood recipe for Cod Fillets with Tomato Relish is a great way to get started. White fish recipes are the perfect kind to get newbies to dip their toes in the seafood arena, and with a familiar tomato relish, it's guaranteed to be a dinner they'll love.
What You'll Need
- 4 (6-ounce) cod fillets (about 1-inch-thick) (see note)
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
- 1 cup halved grape tomatoes
- 1/4 cup coarsely chopped fresh parsley or 1 tablespoon dried parsley
- 1/4 cup thinly sliced scallions
- 1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
- 1 tablespoon capers in juice
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice
What to Do
- Preheat the broiler. Sprinkle fish evenly with salt and pepper. Place fish on lightly greased broiler rack. Broil 4 inches from heat 8 to 10 minutes or until fish flakes easily with a fork.
- Meanwhile, combine tomatoes and remaining 5 ingredients. Spoon mixture evenly over broiled fish.
Notes
Pollock, haddock, and grouper are good alternatives to cod in this recipe, and you can also serve the relish with your other favorite fish dishes.

What exactly is a caper? Sorry for being ignorant but I was told they were also fish. Was I misinformed?
