There's lip-smackin' goodness in every bite of this Asian-inspired Grouper with Pecan Sauce, and it doesn't take very long to make. What could be better?
What You'll Need
- 4 grouper or flounder fillets (1-1/2 to 2 pounds)
- 1 tablespoon plus 1 teaspoon soy sauce, divided
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 3 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 cup whipping cream
- 1 tablespoon dark corn syrup or molasses
- 1/2 cup pecan pieces, toasted
What to Do
- Place fish in a shallow dish. Brush with 1 tablespoon soy sauce; cover and chill 10 minutes.
- Place flour in another shallow dish; dredge fish in flour, shaking off excess flour. Heat oil in a large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat. Add fish; cook 6 to 8 minutes on each side or until fish is golden and flakes easily with a fork. Remove fish from skillet, and keep warm.
- Wipe skillet dry with a paper towel. Add whipping cream and corn syrup to skillet; bring to a boil over medium heat. Boil until mixture is reduced to3/4 cup (about 5 minutes). Stir in 1 teaspoon soy sauce and pecans; spoon sauce over fish.
