What You'll Need
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon paprika
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 pound mahi mahi, halibut, or swordfish steaks, skin removed
What to Do
- In a medium-sized bowl, combine the salt, black and cayenne peppers, paprika, and garlic powder; mix well. Rub evenly over both sides of the fish.
- Preheat a large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat. When hot, remove from the heat and coat with nonstick vegetable spray. Cook the fish for 8 to 10 minutes, or until the fish is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork, turning halfway through the cooking.
Notes
Most Cajun-style food is spicy hot, and this one is no exception, so be prepared! If you want to enjoy it in a less spicy version, try cutting the amount of black and cayenne peppers by half.
