How to Cook a Pumpkin

- Wash and dry off a pie pumpkin then place it on a dish towel. Make sure to use a pie pumpkin and not a carving pumpkin.
- Use a sharp knife to cut the pumpkin into chunks and then use a spoon to remove the seeds. First, cut the pumpkin in half then, lay the two halves flat-side down and cut the pumpkin into chunks. Remove the seeds from each chuck with a spoon.
- Cook the pumpkin one of two ways: bake it in the oven or saute it on the stove.
Bake in the Oven- Place the pumpkin chunks into a roasting dish. Drizzle with olive oil and season.
Cook at 350 degrees F for about 45 minutes or until tender. When the skin starts to separate from the flesh the pumpkin is done!
- For this method remove the skin from the pumpkin chunks.
Place the pumpkin into a hot skillet with a little butter and season as desired.
Saute the pumpkin until tender. Serve and enjoy warm!
