Easy Mayo Rolls
MAKES
about 1 dozen rolls
COOK TIME
12 Min

Remember how grandma would spend hours making bread or homemade biscuits? It's a lot harder today to find the time, which is one of the reasons we came up with these Easy Mayo Rolls! And you won't believe how easy it is. It only has three ingredients, and in less than fifteen minutes, you can have a basket full of moist muffins that even grandma would be proud of.

What You'll Need

  • 3 cups self-rising flour
  • 1 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/3 cup mayonnaise

What to Do

  1. Preheat oven to 425 degrees F. Coat 12 muffin cups with cooking spray.
  2. In a medium bowl, combine all ingredients; mix well. Spoon evenly into muffin cups.
  3. Bake 12 to 15 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Serve warm, or allow to cool slightly, then remove to a wire rack to cool completely.

Note

  • It's easy to have fresh rolls in no time with just three ingredients. Most of us keep milk and mayonnaise on hand, but you've gotta be sure to have self-rising flour on hand, too, so you can make these anytime.

  • If you're whipping these up during those colder days, use them to sop up all the goodness in our Chunky Vegetable and Beef Chili and it pairs perfectly with this Authentic Manhatten Clam Chowder

  • These are perfect if you want to take them along for a picnic, potluck, or get-together. For more warmer weather favorites, check out our "Pumped Up" Potato Salad or, for something really scrumptious, try our Basic Macaroni Salad! Trust us, it's not as "basic" as you think!

I have all purpose flour...what changes do I make?

Hi there! If you're using all-purpose flour, you will need to add 4 teaspoons of baking powder and 3/4 teaspoon of salt to the 3 cups of all-purpose flour. Enjoy!

I'm going to try this with butter milk and ranch dressing. Might have to add an egg.

can you use Miracle Whip instead of mayo?

Hi there! The Test Kitchen hasn't tried this recipe with Miracle Whip, so we can't give you a definitive answer, however, we do believe it should work. We'd love for you to tell us your results! Happy cooking!

I tried it with Miracle Whip, and it was Great!!!

Quick, easy and delicious - what's not to like?

Can this be done in a loaf pan? If so for how long and at what temperature?

Hello! While we have not tried making these in a loaf pan, we do believe it would work. We suggest cooking at 350 degrees F for about 45-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Enjoy!

wow just three ingredients and these are sooo good this is a keeper

Why are the biscuits in the picture not browned?

Hello! Part of the reason why the biscuits do not appear browned in the photo is due to photo lighting. However, these biscuits do not really get golden since we cook them at a higher temperature to get them done quicker. If you like golden biscuits, you can try lowering the temperature to 375 degrees F and cooking them a little longer, or until a toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Thank you!

nice and easy

I thought this recipe was too good to be true, so I had to try it. These rolls have the consistency of a quick bread but the flavor of a biscuit. They are moist and delicious! Can't wait to try adding some different flavors, like garlic and cheese, or cinnamon and raisins. Super simple and nobody would guess they are made with mayo.
