Seafood is a mainstay of the American Northwest and, chances are, this recipe will become a mainstay in your kitchen!
What You'll Need
- 1 cup bottled barbecue sauce
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 4 or 5 halibut steaks
- 1/4 cup seasoned bread crumbs
- 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese
What to Do
- Preheat the oven to 375°F.
- In a small saucepan, combine the barbecue sauce, olive oil, and onion and garlic powders over low heat; simmer for 2 minutes or until heated through. Keep warm.
- Place the halibut steaks in a greased 9" x 13" baking pan. Pour half of the barbecue sauce mixture over the halibut steaks, then brush to evenly distribute.
- In a small bowl, combine the bread crumbs and Parmesan cheese; sprinkle over the halibut.
- Bake for 15 to 20 minutes or until the fish becomes firm and flakes easily with a fork. Warm the remaining barbecue sauce mixture and serve with the baked fish.
Notes
Cook fish for about 10 minutes per inch of thickness; that way it'll stay moist.
