Pure Southern hospitality on a platter! Try this once and we promise it will become your new favorite fried chicken recipe.
What You'll Need
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 teaspoons paprika
- 1 (3- to 4-pound) chicken, cut into 8 pieces
- 8 tablespoons (1 stick) butter, melted
- 4 tablespoons (1/4 cup) butter
- 1/4 cup honey
- 1/4 cup lemon juice
What to Do
-
Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Combine flour, salt, pepper, and paprika in a shallow bowl. Dredge chicken pieces in flour mixture.
-
Pour melted butter into a 9- x 13-inch baking pan. Add pieces of floured chicken in a single layer, turning chicken to coat with butter.
-
Bake skin-side down 30 minutes. While chicken is cooking, make sauce by melting butter in a small pan and beating in honey and lemon juice.
-
Turn chicken pieces, pour Honey Butter Sauce over, and bake an additional 30 minutes or until tender. Spoon pan juices over chicken and serve.

We prefer boneless skinless chicken. Has anyone tried this with chicken tenderloins or boneless skinless breasts? I love a good crispy piece of chicken.

To Prettyrose Next time, try baking it near the topmost part of the oven. That's the hottest part of the oven and foods crisp better when baked there.

Not a hit with my family. It had a weird taste and didn't fry as crispy as it looked in the picture. I will not make this again.
