Hmm, we're stumped. When we made the cobbler in our Test Kitchen it came out thick and bubbly. If you can think of anything you may have done a little different from the instructions, let us know. :)

Recently made this and was very disappointed. The filling was very soupy and needs some kink of thickener. Any ideas? It was tasty.

Hey there, did you happen to use cherries in juice instead of cherry pie filling? Cherry pie filling is in a very thick sauce, which will make for a nice consistency.

Will try this shortly. Can I use my homemade biscuit recipe on this cobbler?

Hello! Without knowing what your recipe is, it's hard to say whether it would work out, but if it has similar ingredients in it, with some baking powder or baking soda to help it rise, we think it will work! Let us know how it turns out! :)

Made this for dessert last night. Quick and very easy. Went just a tad heavier with the orange zest, (It was a big orange.) and it added a delicious kick. Balances the sweetness nicely. For the crust, I used a sheet of frozen puff pastry that I had on hand. It was pretty, but the biscuit topping as given in Mr. Food's recipe would have been lots better! Thank you, Mr. Food!

It is even better since Bisquick makes a gluten free biscuit mix.

If you need gluten-free, you might check the pie filler. They sometimes aren't . I don't ever seem to have much luck with Bisquick. I use Jiffy & always make sure the expiration date is good. I think I'll try making a mix with rice flour - if I can find it. I hear it's terribly expensive - like $5 fora 1 lb bag. Going to check out Chinese suppliers for larger bags. : * )
