This pie tastes like a million bucks, which is why we call it Millionaire's Pie! And the pineapple chunks in each slice even look like gold nuggets. A pie that looks as rich as it tastes? We're in!

This type of pie recipe has been around for a long time, and we're thrilled to bring you a Mr. Food version. Our millionaire pie is easy to make, so you don't have to stress about cooking it for guests. You can spend just the right amount of time in the kitchen, while still having plenty of time to spend with your family. Plus, the finished pie tastes amazing! It's fruity and creamy, with the perfect amount of crunch from the pecans. Sometimes it pays to stick with the classics, and we certainly think that's the case with this recipe.

What You'll Need

  • 1 (20-ounce) can pineapple chunks, drained and blotted dry on paper towels
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • 1 (14-ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
  • 2 cups frozen whipped topping, thawed
  • 1 (9-inch) prepared graham cracker pie crust

What to Do

  1. In a large bowl, combine pineapple, pecans, sweetened condensed milk, and lemon juice; mix well. Gently fold in whipped topping.
  2. Pour mixture into graham cracker crust. Freeze at least 6 hours or overnight.

Just a Suggestion!

  • Top with extra pecans and a drizzle of caramel sauce for a true "millionaire" presentation.
  • You should let the pie thaw for about 5 minutes before serving, then put any leftover pie back into the freezer.

  • And if you're looking for more "millionaire" faves, check out our recipe for Millionaire's Cake!

Thanks for your comment. Don't forget to share!

I am not really a fan of this type of pie. I love fresh pineapple, but I don't really care for it in anything else. My mother, however, loves stuff like this. She loves to cook and bake and this is right up her alley. I will save this recipe and show it to her.

This is an absolute favorite of mine. I made this for mom on mother's day. It was delicious. I do have a comment to make. No where in the recipe does it tell you if this pie needs to go back in the freezer once it's thawed out after freezing it for the desired 6 hours or overnight or can it go in the refrigerator??? This is a very good question to have answered.

Hi there, and thank you for your comment! This pie should always be kept in the freezer until it's ready to serve. You only need to thaw for 5 minutes, or until it's just soft enough to slice. :) Enjoy!

Guess this should be addressed to Codyginger. It might have been runny too if evaporated or "canned" milk were used instead of sweetened condensed (like Eagle Brand). Also I know that the pineapple must be drained very well and patted dry or there may be too much moisture in it. Hope this helps.

The pie may have been runny also if the milk was just evaporated rather than sweetened condensed, or like it was said before, the pineapple was not complete drained and patted dry.

I made this pie and put it in freezer almost 24 hours. It was STILL runny. I even squeezed all the juices out of the pineapple. The pineapple was frozen but all other ingredients were runny. It had a wonderful flavor. Wish it would have done good.

We're sorry to hear your pie came out runny! If you'd like to try again, be sure to check that your condensed milk and bottled lemon juice are fresh, not old. Also, be sure to use regular Cool Whip and not the light or fat free kind. And avoid overmixing. We hope these tips help! Please let us know if you try again, and how it turns out.

I do not mean to offend but never cared for these kinds of pies always has a strange taste

Can I use bananas instead of the pineapple?

Yes, you can use bananas instead of pineapple! Just keep in mind that the bananas may turn a little brown after freezing. Enjoy!

Has anyone used whipped egg whites instead of so much sweetened milk and cool whip to help reduce sugar/fat but still get good consistency?? If so, let me know what ration to use. Thanks. M

Unfortunately, we have not tried using egg whites, so we're not sure if this would work. If you do give it a try, please let us know how it turned out!

Hi my name is Suzette, i am from South Africa. Please can someone tell me what is cups frozen whipped topping. Kind Regards - I enjoy all the receipes.

Hi Suzette, A cup is a unit of measurement in the U.S. and it's equal to 250 ml. I hope this helps. Enjoy!

Hi Suzette... Frozen whipped topping is what we call in the US Cool Whip. It is an imitation "whipped cream" found in the frozen food section usually near frozen fruits.

Hi Suzette Im in Gauteng, what biscuits did you use?

I HAVE MADE A PIE SIMILAR TO THIS MANY TIMES AND IT IS CALLED MILLION DOLLAR PIE;;I USE CRUSHED PINEAPPLE (well drained) ALSO A 9 OZ CONTAINER COOL WHIP;;2 CUP COCONUT AND A CUP OF MARASCHINO CHERRIES (optional ) 4TH CUP LEMON JUICE;; PLUS THE REST OF THE ABOVE INGREDIENTS AND DIRECTIONS ARE THE SAME;;;MAKES 1 DEEP DISH PIE OR 2 SMALL ONES;;THIS IS A WONDERFUL PIE;;EVERYTIME I MAKE IT THERE ARE ONLY CRUMBS LEFT;;I THINK THE REASON IT WAS SOUPY TO MANY IS BECAUSE THE PINEAPPLE WAS NOT DRAINED !!!!!!!!!

lavonne, I would also like to know how much powered sugar you use instead of the condensed milk. Thanks.

Guess I should have directed my comment to gatorgrowl!! Sorry!!

Sounds great. I will follow some of the suggestions below;.

I have made Million Dollar Pie many many times. The one I make is made with 10X Confectioner's Sugar instead of the Sweetened Condensed Milk. I drain & rinse the pineapple. The 10X is sweeet enought. The Coolwhip & 10X powdered sugar make it h high & fluffy. I think mine may have less fat and callories but still hi calorie. My recipe came from a famous restaraunt in NY. I can't remember the name of restaraunt. However----this is a fabulous pie. So EASY. It is really a big hit. I have never had anyone refuse it or say negatives about it.I love it, but do not eat it very much. Good for celebrations. By the way: ooh it's so good". I hope you all try it and comment. I will look forward to reading the comments then. Good luck.

What is 10x powdered sugar? Thanks

lavonne, this would refer to standard powdered sugar (the 10x indicated how many times it has been sifted, I think). gatorgrowl.. you didn't indicate how much powdered sugar in place of the sweetened condensed milk..?

Gator, would you be able to post your recipe with Mr. Food? I love the sounds of this pie, but don't want to put in the effort and have a "soupy" mess. I would be greatful. Thanks!

I have made this pie for years. It is simply delicious and easy to make. I use a large container of cool whip which yields two pies.

I've used this receipe for years but mine is made the same but adds banana's & strawberries. Actually you can and any fruit that you like. If you add enough fruit you can make 2 pies (cuts down on the calories)

Sounds similar to a banana split pie I had once! It was very tasty I will have to try this, Thank You!

My granny made this same pie... its yummy... its like a mini vacation during the week!

My mom used to make this, and she and her friends did not know the name of the recipe, so we just called it "Connie's Pie", after the lady from whom she got the recipe. Years later, I found out the real name. Her recipe used two pie crusts, however, and probably a larger amount of whipped topping. I used to make it for family get-togethers since two pies would feed a crowd. If you have ever had the pineapple cream pie from Captain D's, this tastes very similar.

I can already feel my jeans getting tighter!

SOUNDS DELISH AND EASY TO MAKE
